Having MS and Believing There Will Be A Cure!

By Suzanne Marcelle

I have an incurable disease called Multiple Sclerosis. I'm not looking for sympathy. I'm just hoping to help others out there who also happen to have MS. It has been a long road and in an odd way it's been sometimes fun...sometimes not. I have been involved in walk-a-thons, met new friends, and have grown spiritually more than one can imagine. One thing that I have noticed since my diagnosis when I was 23, I'm now 35, is that I have become obsessed with Angel books, self-help books, books about Jesus and just about anything to do with having a positive outlook on life. I love life. Right now I am waiting for my MRI results from yesterday to see if I am having a possible flare-up and I still love life. I'm a big fan of the "Life Is Good" products. I'm wearing one in my profile pic that my 3 year old daughter took of me. It wasn't always so positive for me and everything smelled like roses. There were very tough times. I think the hardest part of my diagnosis was telling my mom. Her sister has MS and I knew how devastated my mother was over this. Just imagine her finding out her own daughter has it! After my official diagnosis though, there were things that could be done to make me feel better. If I was having a flare-up say with numbness, dizziness to the point where I couldn't stand, and loss of vision in one eye, I would get hooked up to an IV and they would pump 1000 mg of Solu-Medrol (a steroid) for 5 days and my symptoms would just go away. I have been lucky in this aspect. I'm not sure if luck has anything to do with it though now that I think about it. Like I have said, I became more and more spiritual and I love to read about Angels and I love to talk to Angels. I feel it right here in my heart that they exist. They are messengers from God. I believe that when you think positive thoughts and pray often to whoever it is you believe in, good things happen.

My husband became my "angel supplier" when he started buying me Doreen Virtue books on Angels for Christmas. I have quite the collection! I love reading about them and how each angel is recommended for different situations. Ask them anything and they will appear! They will come to your aid for anything you need them for. It may not be apparant right off the bat but sometimes when you look back on something you realize that yes indeed someone or something interceded in some way. I have talked to Angels about my MS and have asked them to intercede for me that God help me get through the day. I pray for energy most of the time and I also pray for good cognitive function throughout the day. I have to tell you, they have helped me in so many different ways! When I'm going for an MRI I ask them to sit with me and calm me down. At the same time I pray God hold my hand while the scanning is in process. This has helped me so much!

In my lifetime I believe I will see the cure for Multiple Sclerosis. I believe with God all things are possible. With so many things out there reaching toward the cure it's guaranteed! For one there are many walk-a-thons for MS, 2 years ago I did the 50 mile MS Challenge which I am very proud of, and many fundraising opportunities to help find the cure. Here's where the Angels and God and my spirituality comes in. If we could all ASK we shall RECEIVE. I believe this. I know God wants us to find it. He doesn't want us to suffer. He doesn't want us to suffer any disease for that matter. If we could just start thinking positive thoughts and having constant conversations with God and the Angels it is bound to happen. I just know it. Here's what I pray at night. I pray that the money we need to find the cure goes right into the right hands. The hands of that blessed researcher who was born to find the cure and put it into effect. I pray that with what they have today with alternative healing techniques that it helps sufferers of MS so that we can be positive and send out that good vibe that is needed to make things happen. With massage therapy, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki (energy healing) Talk Therapy, and many other modalities out there, we have the means to take care of ourselves so that we feel good about ourselves.

Please, we need to take care of ourselves! If we can follow healthy lifestyles and think positive good things are bound to come our way! God helps those who help themselves! I believe this to be true! Think of the future. Think of our present. If I could I would have a world candlelight vigil for Multiple Sclerosis. Honestly, if I could I would hold one for every disease out there no matter what the severity. We can't just wait for cures to happen. Yes Miracles do happen. We've got to make them happen! I will begin the positive flow with this: God Bless all who read this!! Will you continue the positive flowing?

Educate yourself and read positive books. I promise you, you will feel better. Shower yourself with positive frequencies and affirmations. Read about Angels. Read what they can do for you. It has helped me so much.

It is both heartwarming and encouraging to read your hub. My sister has MS and I have a sense of what it can be like, particularly when it "flares up." One of the greatest gifts God gave to my sister is her husband.

Keeping positive, holding on to your faith and the love of your husband is power. I believe, as you do, that "all things are possible" through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Blessings,

Forever His,
